RICKY GARCIA | Visiting Artist
Born in Puerto Rico and raised in NYC, Ricky began his career with Crate & Barrel at the 59th & Madison flagship. He was a key player in building the CB2 brand through openings in New York, Chicago, Toronto and Miami. However, after feeling the artistic calling of fashion and beauty, he made the decision to attend beauty school and subsequently worked in a Miami based salon for another 5 years.
Ricky made the move back to New York with the intention of furthering his skills as a stylist and making new connections. He found the perfect fit at Sam Brocato Salon in SoHo. During his time with Sam, he successfully progressed his skillset under the direction of Styling Educator, Cristie Paduano, and secured invaluable knowledge which he has applied to his work.
With the onset of Covid-19, Ricky made the decision to move back to Miami, where he is currently the proud salon owner of beauty destination and hotspot, Mind the Mane.
Ricky is inspired and motivated to be in an environment filled with driven, passionate, creative, smart and kind individuals, who want to influence and inspire others. He’s a lover of all of the creative spirits that NYC has to offer including beauty, fashion, theater and music. Currently residing in Miami, Ricky is the proud salon owner of Mind the Mane.
Armed with contagious enthusiasm, kindness, a penchant for cutting and exemplary blow out skills, Ricky quickly established himself as a client favorite. He’s proudest of his ability to bring to life his client’s vision of themselves. He can style all day, every day and is passionate about creating anything with his hands.
His style icons range from Audrey Hepburn, Cher, Princess Diana and Diana Ross to Prince, James Dean, George Michael and Michael Jackson. With a wide range of inspiration and experience, Ricky feels that the best part of his job is being creative and impactful to someone else’s image.
