YASUE IIDA | DIRECTOR
For Yasue Iida, hairstyling is more than a career—it's a lifelong passion. Born and raised in Japan, Yasue's mother, who designed unique clothing for her and her sister, first sparked her creativity. She earned a fashion degree in Tokyo before moving to New York City, where she found her true calling in hairstyling. Her artistic expression thrives in the city's energy and diversity.
While Yasue is skilled in all aspects of cutting and styling, hair extensions are her specialty. She loves creating limitless possibilities for her clients, adding length and volume to achieve any desired look.
At Sam Brocato Salon, Yasue has found more than just a workplace—a family. She believes in the power of teamwork, creativity, and treating every client as a work of art. A master stylist once told her, "A haircut is a sculpture." She embodies that philosophy, ensuring each client feels confident and beautiful. Her talent has attracted a diverse clientele, including Claire Danes, Karen Gorney, and New York Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole.
Yasue stays connected to her roots outside the salon by visiting Japan, designing vintage-inspired fashion, and sewing on her beloved 1958 Singer machine. She also maintains a collection of over 2,000 PEZ dispensers, a passion that started in the 1990s.
Honesty, integrity, and courtesy define Yasue's work. At Sam Brocato Salon, she creates more than great hair—she provides an experience that helps clients look and feel their best.
